In 2016, TDCA capped the top division to SIX teams in trying to increase the competition at the top level in province. However optimal size for top division has always challenged TDCA considering cricket growth and everchanging landscape of the game in GTA thus bringing unique challenges to the table. TDCA has consulted with Cricket Ontario, Cricket Canada to review the 2016 results and more importantly received membership feedback to conclude that SIX teams structure is restricting the competition.  As a result 2017 structure will be expanded to NINE teams in the top division to balance competition and to attract promising talent. Further ALL remaining divisions will be aligned to make 18 team structure and eliminate cross-conference play to ensure uniform competition across the league. Structure details as follows: - 9 teams per conference and each team to play 16 games during the season - 1 conference in Super division & 2 conferences in Elite, Premier, 1, 2, 3 divisions - 50 overs format for Super, Elite & Premier divisions - 40 overs format for 1, 2, 3 divisions * A separate T20 tournament is under discussion, stay tuned for updates. The Board is grateful to the membership for their continued faith and support as the Board strives to serve towards improving Cricket and enhancing the available opportunities in Ontario. Your flexibility and patience is the cornerstone of our mutual efforts towards the same goal.
